Whether you live in an apartment or a mansion, the place you call home should be a place where you get refreshed and renewed. Your home isn’t just a place where you sleep and eat, it’s a place where you can prepare for a busy day ahead, where you can make fond memories with family and friends, where you can unwind after a long and stressful day, and where you can feel free to be yourself.
1.Decorate with colors you love
Do you have a favorite color or a color that puts you in a good mood? Even if you live in a building where you aren’t allowed to paint the walls, you can fill your space with your favorite colors by adding simple and inexpensive curtains, pillows, or bedding to brighten your mood.
2. Add a little art to your walls
Hanging up artwork can be a great way to keep your inspiration flowing at all times. You don’t need to go out and buy an expensive painting to add art to your home. If you like to craft, get creative and make your own artwork for your walls! If you’re not feeling artistic, no worries. You can find artwork at garage sales, thrift shops, and sometimes even at your local coffee shops or boutiques.
3. Rearrange your furniture
4. Let there be light!
A well-lit home is a happy home. While natural lighting from large window is best, not everyone has that luxury. If you don’t get much natural light indoors, you can add lamps with warm light bulbs (warm or yellow lights tend to be more calming and inviting than fluorescent lights). Also, adding a mirror to your wall can help reflect any light that enters a room to add even more brightness.
5. Keep it clean
No one likes doing chores, but keeping your space clean will help give you peace of mind. If the areas around you are cluttered and dirty, you will find that it’s harder to concentrate and relax. When your room and your home are clean and organized, your life will start to feel more organized too!
6. Fill your home with blessings
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what is inside of your home or how it is decorated if the atmosphere is not one of peace. Take a little time to walk through each room and say a little prayer where you show gratitude for your home, ask for any negative thoughts to be removed, and ask that blessings of peace and joy fill every corner.
It doesn’t matter if you own it, rent it, or share with family – the place you live is an important part of your life. We hope these tips help you make your house extra homey!
